Splatter Nails!

I have seen this look in several places and have always wanted to try it! It is not as easy as it looks! I did a base of Orly Androginie. However, I didnt write down what the colors were for the splatter. I used a gold, light pink, bright pink, and a light purple! It turned out pretty well! Now for the pictures!

Julep Anne

Sorry it has been a few days since a posted anything new. School started this week and it has been incredibly busy. Today, I have a mani that I wore at the beginning of the week. I did a base coat of Julep Anne with 2 coats of Finger Paints Motley. Motley is a part of a new flakies collection that is available. They are gorgeous! but on to the pictures!

It was kind of hard to capture the flakies but there is a green and blue shift across the nail. I think it is easier to see them over darker colors but oh well!

Revlon No Shrinking Violet

After spending the whole day cleaning, my previous mani was completely ruined. So of course I had to do a new one. Since I have plenty of time, I decided to break out the stamping kit. It turned out okay but I still need a lot of practice with the stamping. It can be a little difficult transferring the image and getting it exactly where I want it.

but anyway. I started with two coats of Revlon's No Shrinking violet. It is a dark purple with a little bit of shimmer. It was hard to photograph the color. It looks a lot darker in the pictures than it is in person.

You can kinda see the color in the first pictures. I took it against the top of my laptop which is black. In the second picture you can see a little bit of the shimmer that I mentioned.

To add a little extra to the mani, I used one of the plates from my Salon Express kit that I got for Christmas. I think that it was plate SE23. I cant remember and I am to lazy to get up and look But it is a flowery pattern that I repeated several times on the nail.

For the stamping polish, I used one of my new Juleps that I got the other day, Julep Maria. It is a dusty pink foil. I am not really a fan of polishes that have a foil look but I liked this one and it worked great for the purpose. It has a lot of opacity so it stamped a strong image.

I jacked my pointer finger up from bad placement. Thats what I meant by having a hard time transferring the image. But I still like the contrast between the purple and the pink. Hopefully, I will be able to get some more plates soon and I can keep practicing!

Orly White Out

After getting my flakies yesterday, I was dying to try one of them out. Usually you will see them out over dark colors but I wanted to try it out over white. I did this over christmas break with a different white and a different flakie and it turned out great. Unfortunately, it did not work out as well this time. You can barely even see the flakies! Not even it person with light shining right on them! I was very dissapponted!

I plan to try this again in a few days to see what it will look like over a purple that I am dying to use! I am a bit of a purple nut!

New polishes!

Yesterday, I finally made my way to Sally's to spend my gift card that I got for Christmas. I picked up two of the flakies from the new Finger Paints collection. I have been waiting nearly a month for it to come out! They are gorg! Flakies can pump up any mani that is a little bit drab.

I also got my January box from Julep! It is a great company from the West Coast. They have several salons out there but they have started a great program called Julep Maven. You pay $19.99 a month and get up to $60 worth of products. This month I got three awesome polishes, a body scrub, and some nail polish wipe samples. I have only been a member for a few months now but I really like it!

Anyway, I have a picture of the polishes that I got from Julep as well as my two flakies!

I am so excited to try these out and show you guys!

Sinful Colors Hottie

So, I know that it has been a few days but I had another failed stamping mani that I just couldnt bare to put up. As soon as a got back to school and to my full collection, I immediately had to do my nails. This one is just a simple glittery mani. Its is a great spring time color!

I used two coats of China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le and topped it off with two coats of Sinful Colors Hottie.
Hottie has a ton of color it in. It has a light blue, periwinkle base then tons of glitter, blues, greens, pinks, silvers! A nice layering polish! Maybe one day I will do a review of it all by itself!

New Years Nails!

Sorry for not posting for a few days. I did a manicure after the last post but I didnt like it so I decided to not create a post about it. So with new years coming up in a couple of days, I decided to to create a shimmery mani for the occasion!

Here are a few extra pictures:

I started with two coats of Julep Helena. It is a gorgeous magenta color described as "Ultra-saturated fuchsia" on the Julep website. Its covers pretty well in two coats. I did have a little bit of cuticle drag but the additional coat cleared that up!

To give the mani a bit of spark, I added a coat of Orly Ingenue. It is a very sheer polish so it added just enough sparkle! I of course added a coat of SV to make it last and give it a brilliant shine!

Hopefully, I will get a chance to post the pictures of Twinkle Lights that I wore on Christmas in a few days. I also have a few other posts planned so keep a look out for them!
