New Years Nails!

Sorry for not posting for a few days. I did a manicure after the last post but I didnt like it so I decided to not create a post about it. So with new years coming up in a couple of days, I decided to to create a shimmery mani for the occasion!

Here are a few extra pictures:

I started with two coats of Julep Helena. It is a gorgeous magenta color described as "Ultra-saturated fuchsia" on the Julep website. Its covers pretty well in two coats. I did have a little bit of cuticle drag but the additional coat cleared that up!

To give the mani a bit of spark, I added a coat of Orly Ingenue. It is a very sheer polish so it added just enough sparkle! I of course added a coat of SV to make it last and give it a brilliant shine!

Hopefully, I will get a chance to post the pictures of Twinkle Lights that I wore on Christmas in a few days. I also have a few other posts planned so keep a look out for them!

My first nail stamping experience!

First, I want to say that I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! I sure did! Tonight, i want to share with you two of the gifts that I got, Revlon whimsical and my nail stamper kit.

I have been hunting down Revlon whimsical for weeks now. It has been all a buzz in the nail community. My mom finally found it at ulta and surprised me with it. It is a dupe of a Deborah Lippmann polish called glitter in the air. The DL polish is a little more saturated than whimsical but it is still beautiful!

To accept whimsical, I used me stamper and added a little pizzaz to my Mani! The stamp kinda looks like little ferris wheels! But on with the pictures...

Sorry about the poor clean up. I was terrified that I would mess up my polish. You can see that the polish smudged on on my ring finger from the thickness.

After I applied Whimsical, I applied a think coat of SV and then did the stamping. I used China Glaze First Mate to do the stamp. It def takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of it! After the stamp, I applied another coat of SV.

China Glaze First Mate

So my patience with Ring in the Red ran its course and I had to change it up! When I was at Sally's the other day, not only did I buy the Christmas colors but I also picked up this gorgeous blue that I just had to have, CG First Mate. It is a beautiful navy creme. It went on well in one coat but I always do two just for good measure.

Two coats of First Mate
I added Twinkle lights to the tips

First Mate covered well and dried to a high gloss shine! The formula was a little thick but that is nothing that a little thinner wouldnt fix. I definately recommend this color to everyone! so pretty! Twinkle lights is also very festive. It is full of gold, red and green glitter! I think that is would be great to try alone and would cover very well! Until next time!

China Glaze Santa's Little Helpers Gift Set

As I mentioned in my first post, I cant resist buying something when I get around nail polish. Well, I had to make a quick trip to the local Sally Beauty Supply to get a nail buffer and I found the wonderful China Glaze Santa's Little Helpers gift set. I have been eye the twinkle lights since I heard about it months ago but hadn't managed to pick it up. So, when I saw the kit and the beautiful reds that came with it, I had to get it. With my beauty club card the set was only $8

The first one from the kit that I decided to try was Ring in the Red. It is a beautiful red that is packed with glitter. Think Dorothy's ruby red slippers from Wizard of Oz.

This is the first time that I have taken pictures so bear with me! But the polish is a great color, especially for festive occasions. It goes on pretty sheer and I did three coats of polish to achieve the look that you see above. I did a coat of Gelous and then a top coat of Seche Vite. Perfecty smooth!

Just getting started

Hi! My name is Chelsey and I am addicted to nail polish.

I used to never care what my nails looked like. After seeing someone post about always doing their nails, I was inspired to paint mine. Well, now I cant stop. Heaven forbid, I walk into a Sally's. I cant get out without least one polish. I started with a few polishes that I used occasionally to well over thirty polishes. I know this is noting compare to the lady's that I read about but, it is a beginning! In this blog I want to record my own adventures with nail polish as well as interact with this ever growing community of fellow bloggers that have a POLISH ADDICTION!
